Smart City Lights and Shadows
With light as our brush,we paint the beauty of the city
National Stadium Lighting System
National Stadium Lighting System lighting system covers the building's exterior facade, the red core structure, the roof membrane structure, and the surrounding landscape. It is China's first large-scale integrated lighting and shadow project for a steel structure and was awarded the Grand Prize at the China Lighting Awards.
Creative Design
Creative Design
Drawing inspiration from the aesthetic of shadow puppetry, this design employs a lighting technique that is bright on the inside and dark on the outside: the red core cylinder is illuminated by LEDs, while the steel structure remains in shadow, recreating the texture of traditional Eastern paper-cut shadow puppets. It features five built-in dynamic lighting sequences—breathing, heartbeat, rotation, running, and rising—suitable for opening ceremony broadcasts, festivals, and daily operations. Three layers of independent color control manage the RGB red wall, the cool-white steel structure, and the warm-yellow film-covered roof separately, creating distinct visual effects for day and night. Custom-designed radial landscape lights echo the building’s steel structure, achieving a seamless integration of light and shadow between the architecture and the landscape.

Utilizing a KNX dual-control architecture, the system integrates comprehensive central control with the LED subsystem to enable zone-based and time-based scheduling of the core shaft, effectively reducing energy consumption during idle periods. Employing a 45° angled anti-glare projection technique, combined with 250W/400W high-efficiency metal halide lamps and custom light-shading louvers, ensures glare-free illumination even at long distances. Soft light calibration is performed for the curved surfaces of the membrane structure; projection angles are optimized according to the curvature of the surface to eliminate bright-dark transitions, with illuminance standards meeting the requirements for international sports event broadcasts. The luminaires feature an outdoor matte anti-corrosion baked paint finish, enabling stable outdoor operation for over 18 years and mitigating the issue of widespread light decay.

Practical Value
Practical Value
As an iconic visual achievement of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, the project established industry standards for lighting in large-scale sports venues in China; achieved a 45% reduction in overall electricity consumption, creating a model for green lighting in large public buildings; and developed a comprehensive technical system for venue lighting and shadow effects, providing technical support for the Ice Ribbon project.
Ice Ribbon
Landmark venue for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. Completed full nightscape lighting with 22 curved facade LED light strips, winning the First Prize of the 17th China Lighting Awards.
Creative Design
The 22 exterior LED strips span a total length of 13,640 meters, replicating athletes’ skating trajectories and interpreting "the hardness of ice and the flow of ribbons". Three lighting modes are available: competition ice blue, victory celebration gold and festive multi-color mode, with fast hardware switching. Luminaires are concealed within 1mm double-layer glass gaps. Relying on enamel ice crystal texture with no exposed lamp bodies, it creates a translucent self-luminous ice crystal effect.
Core Technology

90+ RGBW linear luminaires are deployed per meter; 1,440 pieces of curved glass are individually shaped to match 350mm building curvature modules. Double-silver insulated hollow glass with tuned transmittance meets Samsung green building thermal insulation standards while ensuring uniform night illuminance. Tens of thousands of meters of light strips connect to the central control system with zero delay for dynamic effects; each strip supports independent zoning dimming. IP67-rated luminaires withstand freeze-thaw, rain and snow at -20℃ in Beijing, maintaining no light leakage or light decay during long-term outdoor operation.

Practical Value
Iconic viral visual for the 2022 Winter Olympics. China’s first standardized case of embedded lighting for curved curtain walls. After the games, it operates year-round for cultural tourism lighting, balancing three values: sports events, citizen night tours and city external presentation.
Hangzhou G20 Summit
2016 Hangzhou G20 national-level lighting project. It covers full lighting for over 30 landmark buildings along the Qiantang River and the main venue of Hangzhou International Expo Center, creating China’s first ultra-large-scale synchronous light & shadow giant screen for multi-building clusters.
Creative Design
The light show consists of three chapters: Soul of the City, Spirit of Water, Shadow of Light, interpreting Jiangnan culture including Fuchun Mountain Dwelling, Qiantang Tidal Bore and the Ten Scenes of West Lake. Layered brightness system: dynamic landscape lighting for low-rise riverfront; static base lighting for mid-rise buildings; dynamic performance lighting for high-rise towers. Each layer operates independently without interference, achieving high consistency across both river banks. Reflections on the Qiantang River form a dual-layer light-and-shadow scroll above and beneath the water surface.
Core Technology

700,000 LED luminaires are connected to the city-level master control platform. 4G wireless synchronization delivers zero-delay effects across kilometer-wide building clusters. Dual-layer sealed waterproof structure adapts to high-humidity salt-fog environments for year-round waterfront outdoor use. 50% baseline brightness on workdays to guarantee traffic safety; full brightness for summits and weekends. High-rise dynamic lights automatically dim during non-performance hours, achieving 52% overall energy saving.

Practical Value
It served as the core welcoming visual for global guests at the G20 Summit, presenting Jiangnan urban aesthetics and setting the benchmark for linked lighting of waterfront building clusters in China. It keeps running year-round after the summit, continuously driving Qiantang River night tour economy.
Ping An Finance Center
As the benchmark of super high-rise landmarks in South China, the project completed full nightscape lighting including tower facade, podium and rooftop laser system. It acts as the core visual carrier of Shenzhen CBD city light show and builds a highly recognizable urban night skyline for the Greater Bay Area.
Creative Design
Vertical linear lights outline sharp building surfaces, echoing the diamond-fold curtain wall. Diamond-shaped design paired with high-power spotlights shapes a diamond silhouette on the city skyline. Podium: soft interior-transmission lighting creates a business atmosphere. Vertical light strips in the mid-tower strengthen the towering posture of the building. 8 sets of RGB lasers are linked synchronously with the light show on Lianhua Mountain 2.4km away, forming the visual hub of Futian CBD.
Core Technology

DC48V secondary potting luminaires with dedicated surge protection mitigate temperature difference, humidity and lightning corrosion at 600m altitude and reduce various failures. 22 types of luminaires with nearly 130,000 control points; a unified platform compatible with multi-brand equipment to eliminate color difference and transmission delay. Custom brackets for installation without damaging the original curtain wall. Dual-layer imaging solution combining long-distance high-power beams and micro-pixel LEDs, creating a new paradigm for domestic super high-rise lighting.

Practical Value
Nightscape landmark business card of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Established a standardized remote intelligent operation & maintenance system for super high-rise building lighting. Included in Shenzhen regular city light show, serving as a permanent symbol for city external promotion.
